On December 1st, Nurse Gaudreau joined the ECC as a special guest speaker. We looked at the numbers found on plastic recyclables and talked about what sorts of things they can be made into after they are recycled.
It was fun to learn about the plastics. The easiest plastics to find [take note this is an opinion] were numbers 1 and 5 [polyethylene terephthalate and polypropylene]. The hardest plastics to find were number 7, or "the hotdog of plastics!" because it is made of combinations of numbers 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, and 6.
I really liked when we brought in all the bottles and cans and found out what the numbers mean. I found out a lot of things doing this. It was really fun. Some things I didn't even know you could recycle. It was fun.
It was really cool to see that most plastic is recyclable. Now we know to look for those numbers and recycle them. I could really feel the difference between the materials. I used to think that plastic was just plastic until now. It was a really interesting for me.
I really enjoyed learning what the numbers on the bottles meant . I thought it was interesting to learn what the bottles ( and ect.) would be made into. I remember that the number 7 bottles were hardest to find.
I loved learning about which things you can recycle, where and how long it takes to decompose in the dump if you do throw it away. Have you ever noticed the number on the bottom of the container? Well that is the number that shows what kind of recyclable it is. Did you know that the higher the number is the harder it is to recycle?
i loved doing this. It was so fun it was like a treasure hunt but for recyclables . I had so much fun I loved this and we collected lots of the 7s for them being the hardest I got a apple sauce cup for 7. You should try doing this at home .It is so fun to recycle!!!!!

I liked how we had to find the bottles at our house. I liked that we put them in order from 1-7. 7 was hardest to find.
